1998 was a great year for Depeche. For the Masses was released, a tribute album with Depeche Mode covers by The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins and the Deftones. Depeche also released two volumes of Greatest Hits, and were featured on VH1's "Behind the Music."

They also went on a world tour, and I saw them at their first US performance in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was pretty cool to see the band after being a huge fan since high school. They played for two and a half hours, with the highlight of the evening being an incredible performance of "In Your Room."
